Polished jewels

"For a performance recorded in 1963 the Mussorgsky is little short of amazing. The Cleveland's virtuosity is never in doubt, but neither is its subtlety and warmth. One of the top "Pictures" of all time. The Greig is lovely if a little overblown and the Bizet is fine. Sound is glowing, - warm and natural with plenty of room in climaxes. Highly recommended, - thank you Sony"
SACD only, no CD layer

"I own this (Super Audio) CD, and the music on it is superb. Be warned, though, it is SACD only. Most, if not all, of the recently produced SACDs have a CD layer also that allows the CDs to be played in regular CD players and read by regular computer CD drives. Those are called hybrid SACDs. This one, produced earlier, does NOT -- it is SACD only, and won't play in a regular CD player and cannot be read by a computer's CD or DVD drive. So don't think about trying to rip it digitally, unless you're an audio engineer with access to all the fancy equipment."
