CD Reviews

Great buy!

"Well, being a Philadelphian, I'm bound to like George Howard and his works. This is the one that turned me on to him. I proudly use his "Broad Street" track from "Love and Understanding" right before I have a challenging day. George is and always will be the best Philly jazz man for me. (Sorry Grover). George touched emotions in me that I didn't know I had and all I can do is thank him and his genius."
Incredible Smooth Jazz

"Probably one my favorite songs by George Howard is on this CD entitled "Only Here For A Minute." The melody has an almost enchanting embrace to it. This entire CD is as they say, "OFF THE HOOK." If you want quality smooth jazz, then start a George Howard collection. He has a polished and soothing style and sound that sets him apart from any other saxophonist. I've been searching for this CD for years in different stores. Maybe I'll get lucky and Santa will deliver it to me for Christmas. What a wonderful gift it would be. You should have it too. Even though George is no longer with us in this world, his music still shines like a galaxy of stars. GET THIS CD!!!!!"
Very Fine Jazz

"While recorded over 10 years ago, this work stands up to today's best. The arrangements are beautifully worked and the sax is artistically very fine. The tenderness and feeling found in "Baby, Come to Me" is satisfying and sultry. "Love and Understanding" is funky, yet lively sophisticated. "Everything I Miss At Home" is quite satisfying. "Talk to the Drum" has an African flavor with a loose stucture. This one is perfect for the jazz lover and all George Howard fans!"
