Before Breezin' Was In Season

"Though Breezin" remains a smooth jazz classic, there were other sides to the music of George Benson well before that song (and album of the same name) quickly found a permanent place in pop culture in 1976.
This set of five albums has a trio with solid jazz chart success - Bad Benson (1975, #1), Body Talk (1974, #10), Beyond the Blue Horizon (1971, #15) - his second release for Columbia Records, It's Uptown (1965), and The George Benson Cookbook (1966).
The LP mini-sleeves are reproductions of the original albums and the collection is part of a series of popular rock and jazz artists who have five albums packaged together at a (mostly) competitive price. These are no frills - not a "limited edition" collectable - with this set a fabulous way to become acquainted with Benson's solid repertoire before Breezin' came into season."
Lose the corny vocals & the R&B sax

"The three CTI releases are fine. The three vocals on "It's Uptown" and the two on "The George Benson Cookbook" (both Columbia releases) I can do without. "The George Benson Cookbook" is more R&B than jazz. You might want to purchase the CTI albums separately."
