"Danger of Infection was the 1998 debut album by British hard rockers Dirty Deeds. The band, which featured former Chariot mainman Pete Franklin on vocals and guitar, plays straightforward hard rock. If Chariot was post-NWOBHM, perhaps Dirty Deeds counts as post-post-NWOBHM?

Danger of Infection is somewhat melodic, but doesn't stray into Ten/Lost Weekend AOR territory. It's heavy, but it doesn't quite reach Saxon/Iron Maiden metal territory either. It's melodic hard rock, but with the band's NWOBHM roots, the emphasis is definitely on the ROCK part! The closest comparison I can think of is the David Glen Eisley band Stream, though you can also hear elements of Thin Lizzy, Rainbow and Deep Purple in Dirty Deeds' sound. Franklin's strong midrange vocals on this album bring to mind bands like Nightingale or Vanishing Point (the epic "Dividing Line" sounds like it could have come from that band's debut), though the music is obviously not as progressive as those bands' efforts.

Overall, Danger of Infection is a better than average hard rock album that fans of Chariot in particular will want to check out. The band released one other album - 1999's Real World - before calling it quits.
