Gene Autry the singing Hollywood Cowboy worked as a telegraph operator in the 1920s when Will Rogers overheard him singing and suggested he get into show business. Autry starred in 93 films sold more than 100 million records and wrote more then 200 popular songs including the holiday classic "Here Comes Santa Claus." Autry said goodbye to movies in the mid-1950s to further his career as a successful businessman. However he continued performing on television until the 1960s. When Sandra decides to raise sheep instead of cattle it doesn't settle with the neighboring ranchers and Gene is forced to make peace.
