Definite Dissapointment

"I was a pretty big fan of Gavin DeGraw's first CD. I remember there was a time when I had it in my car and it was consistently in the player. I liked his piano based songs (I'm a piano player myself) and he amazing, soulful voice. I was very excited for his second album and expected nothing but the best.
This album fits the archetype of the sophomore slump to the tea. It's sophomoric in tone (no pun intended) and it's simple, dumb lyrics and overused cliches did nothing to showcase the often weak musical accompaniment. Gavin DeGraw, you should do better than this, especially because there was such a long hiatus between records. I was very dissapointed, and only listened to two songs on the CD a second time. I would throw it away, but I'd rather recycle. I hope his new effort is considerably more thought provoking than this dull, lifeless album."
