It was utterly transcendant, powerful and percussive. Nothing like the great majority of his albums. This CD is a taste of what he can do live - a different bag altogether. I hope I can find a more recent CD that captures his current power surge. His band was as exciting as McCoy Tyner's, which I also saw this year, and that is saying a lot! The misjudgments in material selection and targeting of smooth-jazz audiences will mar his reputation, even as it made him some money in the late 70's early 80's, and again in the late 90's. I hold no grudges for an artist trying to survive, but PLEASE give the rest of us more of your powerful, percussive soul!"
