"Classic LA Punk-Pop Band Reunites for Roxy Show on 6/22/2010
The seminal LA new wave punk/pop band Gary Myrick and The Figures, whose first single "She Talks In Stereo" was featured in the cult film "Valley Girl", will reunite for a special live show at the Roxy Theater on Sunset Strip in Los Angeles, CA for one night only on Tuesday, June 22nd, 2010.
Myrick and company are experiencing something of a revival due to the recent re-release of their first three Epic/CBS Records albums on CD by Sony subsidiary Wounded Bird Records. All three CDs feature additional tracks from live shows and demos that were never previously released and which more than double the length of each of the previous vinyl LPs.
Three of the original band members of GMF will be performing: Gary Myrick (lead vocals, lead guitar), David Dennard (bass, vocals) and Jack White (drums, vocals) plus new member Gina Myrick (keyboards, backing vocals).
Don't miss this chance to catch one of LA's best live acts from the '80s in person on their original home turf, The Roxy! Doors open at 7:00 PM. Call the Roxy box office for more information. Also appearing: Holly & The Italians, The Bebe Buell Band."
A long time in the making
