CD Reviews

Music for Forever
Jeane C. Hirst | Pasadena, TX United States | 02/17/2001

"This album, like all the rest of Gary's albums, has songs that can send you back to another time and another place. His selection of titles is one you won't hear on anyone else's and they are all unforgettable. Of course, it is his great voice that makes it all come together. I keep his CD's and cassettes in the car and in my den so I can hear them wherever I go. Also have made copies of cassettes which were impossible to find to give to my friends. We are now a fan club of oldsters who have Gary playing day and night. We wish someone could persuade him to make a new one."

"Gary Morris has one of the greatest singing voices out in this big business of music. He really doesn't get credit enough for his brilliant talents. I'm hoping that he will get a new album out soon! I think the whole world would appreciate his songs if only they could hear his beautiful voice. Thank you for letting me tell you what I think of this talented performer, GARY MORRIS."
All the hits missing from the first volume

"Gary Morris was one of the finest pop-country singers of the mid-eighties. His music has a definite country flavor but most of it will not appeal to those traditionalists who only like traditional country. He did record one acoustic album, represented here by Honeycomb, Don't look back and Plain brown wrapper, but that album was not like any of his other music. Those tracks should appeal to traditionalists without alienating Gary's pop-country fans.

Gary's first hits albums ignored his duets but they can be found here - one with Lynn Anderson (You're welcome to tonight) and two with Crystal Gayle (Making up for lost time, Another world).

Why lady why, Second hand heart, Between two fires and Dreams die hard are all typical Gary Morris solo tracks, similar in style to those on his first hits collection.

Although most of Gary's biggest hits are on the first volume, this collection has more variety because of the duets and acoustic tracks. If you enjoy pop-country music of the eighties, don't ignore Gary Morris."
