"This album is very nice AfroCuban Jazz. Be careful, there is another group of Garcia Brothers that have many more albums out by a Mexican Chicano group playing what I would call Ranchera. But not jazz by any means. These are the Jazz Garcias and Latin percussion is melded with cool, straight ahead bebop Jazz. The fine horn players are not part of the Garcia family, but they are superb in mixing the two styles together. The sound is similar to the work being done by Columbian pianist Hector Martignon, Cuban Emiliano Salvador, and lots of Ray Barretto's work with New World Spirit during his Concord years. A cool groove that will send you."
