"Like many of my all-time favorite albums, this didn't really grab me on the first play, or even the second.
Bothered by that, since I am quickly becoming a Garageland fanatic, I revisited this EP today. And I'm glad I did, because it is at least the equal of their full-length releases, and being an EP, delivers Garageland's unique guitar-driven pop in concentrate form.
From the distinctively New Zealandish pop of "Come Back" and "Bus Stops" to the 'Chronic Town'-era REM of "What Will You Do?" to the distortion-laden "Cut It Out" and the dark, spare "Struck", this EP is a wonder; an aural orgasam of buzzy six-stringed treats.
Anyone needing to feed a serious Kiwi pop habit need look no further. This is intimate, warm and intoxicating stuff--not to be used while operating heavy machinery.
Like their debut album 'Last Exit To Garageland', this is quickly becoming hard-to-find. Interested? Better hurry--it's disappearing fast."
