CD ReviewsGet Loose,Live & Funky Maria Alvarez | Stevens Point,WI USA | 10/24/2003 (5 out of 5 stars) "I'm really glad that they decided to put out a Gap Band Compilation focusing on their later hits. This CD showcases the Gap Band's Shining Moments from the LPs:VI,VII,VIII & Straight From The Heart. The albums they put out between the years 1984-1988 featured some of their most slamming trax to date yet their work was highly underrated. These Cuts never got the respect & recognition they deserved on most top-rate Gap CD collections and now these treasured & rare gap grooves are finally getting their due. This disc gets off to a Smokin' Start and ends with a Bang. Every track on the Cd is Essential Gap Band Listening. It includes a wide song span of their career in the mid-late eighties with such sizzling jams as "Zibble Zibble (Get The Money)AKA(Get Loose,Get Funky)","Beep a Freak","Automatic Brain","Disrespect","Big Fun","Lil'Red Funkin' Hood","Video Junkie","Straight From The Heart" & "Sweeter Than Candy". Other Tracks worth mentioning are the tantalizing slow jams,"I Found My Baby" & "Going In Circles" as well as the Quiet-Storm Sleeper,"I Know We'll Make It". I found this CD to be very enjoyable and was Blown Away by the Dynamic Energy & Musical Interaction that the Gap Band Guys gave up on this Blazing Set. I was awestruck by how many Heavy-Hitting Funk Joints were on this Collection. Their musical intensity is so damn tight on this disc that it's amazing. The Gappers really had me grooving with their hook-laden, dance-inducing,Straight Ahead Synth Funk Assault. If you are any type of Gap fan,I suggest you pick this up as soon as possible so you too can Get Into The Gap's Groove the way I did. Another good Eighties-Based Gap Compilation to check out is: The Best Of The Gap Band-Volume 2 because it has 3 Killer Gap Band Cuts that are not on this one:"All Of My Love","I'm Gonna Git You Sucka" & "Addicted To Your Love". But seriously,Cop Gap Band 80's Right Away." A Slammin Collection mistermaxxx@yahoo.com | usa | 10/11/2003 (5 out of 5 stars) "I'm a Huge Gap Band Fan.there Grooves still warm up my Crib anytime during the year.CHarlie Wilson was Bringing on the Vocals along with His Brothers.the cool thing here is that the Jams are all uncut&Full Length.there Synth Based Attack on the Funk is timeless to me.every year I got hyped over a New Gap Band Album.this is a Slammin Set."
