Synopsis

Amazon.com
This expansion of the Gap Band's 12" Collection by two cuts adds up to the Oklahoma funk outfit's definitive statement. Excising drab ballads and pulling together lengthy but consistently exciting mixes of signature tracks such as "You Dropped a Bomb on Me," "Party Train," and "Burn Rubber (on Me)," this album points to the group's best work as some of '80s funk's most audacious and entertaining music. --Rickey Wright

CD Reviews

Gap Band 12" only way to appreciate them

"The Gap Band bucked the trend of syntho beat and was one of the first bands to use heavey base lines in their music. They have got one of the most wicked grooves of the era, and their rein on the dance floor ruled for 6 yrs solid. The version of Burn rubber on this cd is the only one any true funk/dance fan wants to have"
I am SO loving this CD!!

"This was the STUFF when I was a partying chick! I put this in as soon as it came to the house, and I was transported back to that time-what great dance and just plain groovin music! THIS CD WILL STAY WITH ME ALWAYS!!"

"this disc reflects the grand Grooves of the Gap Band.it adds more layers of funk.the Horns&Bass are dead square in the Pocket.and it takes nothing away from the vocals.they never lost the Groove during the Synth&drum Machine Happy 80's."
