The memories may be fuzzy, but not the music

"WOW! Now THIS is the kind of rock music I'm looking for when I think "underrated".
Fuzzy Duck has a style that's not much different from classic Deep Purple, but I tend to think since the focus is more about songwriting with these guys and less on extended jams, that they should be compared more to Captain Beyond.
This band seriously has "it". You know, that special feeling when you hear a rock album and KNOW the band should have been bigger than they were because of the talent that immediately catches your attention.
"Time Will Be Your Doctor" has a lot of funk and a splendid way to open an album. From there the band is definitely not shy taking their music in a thousand different directions, and this is one band that's so TIGHT and so much in tune with what they're doing, they made sure every single moment of the album was filled with little ideas such as guitar solos, keyboards, vocals, bass guitar, etc. NO boring moments anywhere, and nothing that drags on too long.
Fuzzy Duck seemed intent on making sure the listener focuses entirely on the music for the ENTIRE album, so the songs are written in a way where you know every single second of the album counts.
I think "In Our Time" is my favorite song because of the immediate comparison to Deep Purple (I mean, it sounds a lot like Deep Purple it's not even funny, but this is definitely not a BAD thing by any means).
What's amazing is how the end of the album takes the music in a completely different direction with some soul numbers that really show off the lead singers range and style. I like this.
I HIGHLY recommend this album to all Captain Beyond fans, and those who like Camel's first album. This is *exactly* what I'm looking for in my 70's rock. A perfect album really."
Sadly overlooked and don't let the name turn you away.

"Apaprently the goofy name is a british drinking game where you get trashed and try to say "Fuzzy Duck". I sadly missed the 60's and 70's being born right smack at the beginning of the 80's and so too young to have lived through this stuff, but as a music fanantic, musician, and music collector, always looking something with substance I have found myself digging more into the 60's and 70's then I ever would have imagined and I'd have to say that this is a worthy pick up overall. Really good classic rock album, fairly heavy in parts, great rhythm section and vocals, solid throughout. It's hard for me to describe this in detail because I'm not listening to it currently,and haven't listenend to this album enough to be fully familiar with it so as to describe it perfectly, but it's a must for those of us that always want to find that hidden gem. I'd also recommend High Tide-Sea Shanties and JPT Scare band along with this one.I absolutely love those two bands and have been listening to them consistently."
Obscure Heavy Seventies Classic!

"Reminiscent of early DEEP PURPLE, (due to driving keyboards and guitars and a Rod Evans-like lead vocals,) but (only marginally,) less of a hippy, 60s vibe. Some great fuzzed-out guitar work and a heap of great riffs. Upbeat, accessible, hard rock from '71.
Well worth the asking price in the "New & Used" section!"
