"It's no surprise that Freddie Hubbard won the Grammy for this album in 1972! It is a masterpiece and more!
Creed Taylor brought together some of the finest jazz musicians in the business for this tour de force. Beginning with Freddie Hubbard on trumpet and flugelhorn, Richard Wyands on piano, Hubert Laws on flute, Herbie Hancock on the Fender Rhodes, George Benson on guitar, Eric Gale on guitar, Ron Carter on bass, Jack DeJohnette on drums, and Airto Moreira on percussion. And that's just to name a FEW!!!
In addition to the who's who in jazz names, there are within the credits, various musicians on the vibes, flutes, bassoons, English horn, oboe, clarinets, French horns, harp, and violins. Oh, yes, THIS is a work of a grand nature!
Apart from the original LP, this CD includes two bonus tracks, one being a sixteen-minute live version of the title song. If you love Freddie and if you love Creed Taylor productions, this is a must for your collection!"
