Product DescriptionFred SCHNEIDER is a true bass prodigy. As he was 19, this French musician got increasingly interested in jazz and related musics: he got trained in ball bands, then he became a bass-player of the alternative jazz fanfare TOXICOMOON. His first solo album was recorded in 1996 under the name FRED AND CO, and released on the Musea Parallèle label. Nine years later and after many collaborations, our man is back with a new instrumental album: "Kess Kiss Bass ?" (2005). This shows a cool and light music, kind of modern jazz-rock fusion leaving a large space for emotion. A touch of welcome humour appears here and there. Among the guest musicians, one could find the name of a certain Cyril ACHARD, from whom Fred SCHNEIDER often played with. This is an album that will definitely leave you in a good mood ! "Seul A SeulS" (2008) is a turning point in Fred SCHNEIDER's carreer, since the new bassist of ECLAT performs his own compositions, along with a few milestones he fell in love with. The major hook of this album is the fact that only basses, electric and acoustic, are used here, except for two titles. Here are also some guests: Decebal BADILA (Romania), Armin METZ (Germany), Gilles COQUARD, Corinne DRANGUET, Véronique EBEL, Guy SCHNEIDER (The father !), Chico & Igor WILCOX (Brazil). The new opus, "Voyage" (Great Winds, 2014), features Cyril ACHARD (Guitar), Sébastien MINARD (Guitar), Matthieu RABATE (Drums), Volodia BRICE (LORD OF MUSHROOMS, drums), Jerry MAROTTA (Peter GABRIEL, drums), Célie SCHNEIDER (Piano & vocals), John MASSA (Tenor saxophone), Lulla SCHNEIDER (Piano & vocals), Adrien JANIAK (Ukulele), Jérome SCHNEIDER (Piano & loops), Brice DELAGE, Benjamin RIPPERT, Benoit VANDERSTRAETEN, Marc GUILLERMONT, Ylan RABATE and Antony VALENZUELA. Fred SCHNEIDER enjoys gathering people around one simple and human project: he offered to twenty bass players to compose one part for the title "Travel Basses". Here they are: Alexei DOLGANOV, Alexis RUINIER, Barbara FELETTIG, Bruno CHAZA, Christophe BABIN, Jan SZYMANSKI, Jamy PEDRO, Jean-Christophe DUPEBE, Jonathan MENARD, Lucas TAFINI, Maurice ZEMMOUR, Pascal BOUCAUD, Stéphane MENARD, Valéry BOULANGER, Antoine FRANQUEVILLE-ROY, Fred ROLAND and Steve FABRY.
