Album DescriptionRhino is proud to announce its acquisition of the Del-Fi catalog. Prior to his celebrated decades as the ringleader of the Mothers of Invention, legendary composer, performer, and experimental rock pioneer Frank Zappa began his career making musical mayhem in his own Cucamonga, California, recording studio. In 1963 Zappa showed up on the doorstep of L.A.-based Del-Fi Records with a heap of doo-wop, novelty, East L.A. R&B and surf sides, all produced, written, and performed by him and his proteges. Named for Zappa's studio, this disc celebrates the artist's "Wild Years," 1963-1964, with a collection of rarities that hint at his inimitable genuis-in-the-making.
