"Frank Marino may not have revolutionized Rock n' Roll, but he plays the genre better than most. It's a shame that an artist of such high caliber has had such a low profile.THE POWER OF ROCK N' ROLL is Frank Marino's 1st solo album, and it is a must-have for every Rock collection. If you are new to Frank Marino's music, this is a good place to start. After this you will want to purchase JUGGERNAUT, Frank Marino's 2nd solo album. Both albums are essential. JUGGERNAUT shows a more thoughtful approach to song writing. It contains some amazing guitar riffs. THE POWER OF ROCK N' ROLL, on the other hand, is a straight-forward barrage of pure energy. Both albums feature Frank's unbelievable lead-guitar wizardry, not to mention his perfect-for-the-part vocals.THE POWER OF ROCK N' ROLL will put a smile on your face, because you will be sooo pleased with yourself for purchasing it."
Fantastic start to finish!

"This is Frank's most straight-ahead hard rock album. I know Frank himself doesn't care for the cover or the content of this CD that much, but I beg to differ. I love this CD!! Frank is one of the best guitarists ever and it is a shame he has gotten so little recognition. I saw him in June of 2000 in Montreal and let me tell you he is incredible! He hasn't lost his ability in the least. Run out and buy this one. You will not regret it - it is a classic along with "What's Next" and "Juggernaut". These three are his heaviest. Keep in mind, these are only three of MANY great CDs that he put out under the "Frank Marino" and "Frank Marino & Mahogany Rush" names. Great Stuff!"

"This is the kind of emtional album that stay with you long after you finish listening to it. Frank Marino is not concerned with acceptable structure or formula. Having a radio hit come off his album is not a concern. Instead he plays from the heart, and who can criticize that. Especially when the results are so entertaining."

"I bought this LP when it was released in '81. Yes, I have everything Frank did up to "From the Hip" on vinyl. The Power of Rock and Roll" was the first Frank Marino album that I had ever purchased. Just so the story is straight I bought it "because" of the album cover. I didn't know who Frank Marino was but he had long hair and it looked like the album would be guitar intensive. Holy Crap! Is that an understatement! At that time most albums were pretty corny, and Black Metal was just surfacing. I played this album and kind of ignored it at first. Then "Ain't Dead Yet" came on and I was pole-axed! THIS was what playing the guitar was all about. This wasn't just lead from start to finish, it was another voice singing right along with Frank. I have never heard anything like it before or since..... I still get tweaked every time I hear this album. This is my favorite album of all time by my favorite guitar picker. Frank is the best; bar none. I bought everything with Frank's name on it. I even bought LPs mastered by George Marino because it was close to Frank Marino's name(Ya I know it doesn't make much sense but I smoked alot of weed back then....). I am not writing this really as a review just as a testament to my favorite guitar slinger. Frank, thank you for all the great music that you have created and I hope that you create much, much more. Buy ANYTHING with Frank Marino on it!"
