"I was first introduced to Frank Lowe by a good friend. "Soul Folks" was the album (I've since gotten almost all of them) from the gate I was blown away at his touch lyricism and beautiful ability to bring you in to the now which few players are able to do. this record " lowe-down & blue" is a great example of this ability of mr. Lowe's to maintain an intensity and fervor for life through the whole album even when the volume is hushed and very small spaces and points are being made. the guitar playing by Berne Nix is tasty and lush. Micheal Carvin's drumming is just the right amount of restraint for the whole band to keep those embers glowing till the last note. If your a jazz fan and don't know about Frank Lowe do yourself a favor he's a master sculptor of sound."
