Synopsis

Album Description
2006 five track EP by this singer/songwriter who has been gaining support from his peers (Bonnie Raitt, KT Tunstall, etc) and has had songs aired on ABC's Grey's Anatomy. Foy Vance arrived into the public consciousness in 2005, armed with his cracked soulful voice and the skill to write immediate, profound, storytelling songs. A series of gigs that saw him support such diverse artists as Tegan & Sara, Pete Townshend, The Guillemots, Joss Stone and blues legend Taj Mahal led to two soldout shows at Ronnie Scott's, which further confirmed his reputation, now rapidly growing via word of mouth, that Foy is a major talent. An overwhelming response from US and Canadian audiences, due to the airing of two of Foy's songs ('Homebird' as featured on the new EP, and 'Gabriel and the Vagabond') on the TV series, Grey's Anatomy. Songs include 'Home', 'Stoke My Fire', 'Homebird', 'Don' Please Yourself' and 'Sometimes'. Wurdamouth.

CD Reviews

An amazing piece of work

(5 out of 5 stars)

"I waited anxiously for "Watermelon Oranges" to come out, having bought Foy's first EP "Live Sessions & The Birth of the Toilet Tour" and been amazed by his writing style and powerful voice. The producers of the TV show Grey's Anatomy heard him and included his song "Gabriel and the Vagabond" in an episode of their show, and he toured with Bonnie Raitt this spring.

I was not disappointed by the follow up to his first EP. Don't be put off by getting just 5 songs, each song could be the lead track, they are all good songs. "Homebird" is a gorgeous song about childhood, simple acoustic style arrangement with smooth gospel background vocals and Foy's masterful delivery, telling us the story.. "Leave but nothing, tell me everything", which is what Foy does on Watermelon Oranges. I can't wait to hear what he does next. It's only a matter of time till the rest of the universe finds out about him. Bravo!"
