Thick & crunchy guitar work, atmospheric keyboards, and strong female vocals propel the sophomore release Fate from Pennsylvania's Fountain of Tears. With one foot in the metal/hard rock pool, the other dipping their toes in gothic rock, add in a little bit of prog, and you have an idea of what to expect with this band. The production is crisp and full of life, giving singer Vonnie King plenty of room to accentuate her mix of powerful and ethereal vocals over the music. Formed by Former members of BELIEVER, SACRAMENT and SARDONIX, this new band while not a Christian band is a positive Metal band and it is indeed refreshing to hear a female-fronted Metal band, that doesn't sound like Nightwish, Evanescence or Within Temptation . . . A highly recommended release.
