"Sparrow and Calypso are synonymous. This album is a classic, however people who are new to calypso and Sparrow should not start by purchasing this Sparrow album but should try some of his others first then listen to this one. This would give them a feel for what this trubador can do with his mastery of satirical composition and vocal range. It highlights the talents of this wonderful singer and the great orchestra of Byron lee. A historical gem from the early days of recorded island music. This is what the Caribbean is about. This is a must have for aaspiring calypso fans especially from a non West Indian background. Listen to the master and enjoy."

"I was expecting a more rootsy type of music when I ordered this on the strength of Only A Fool, but it's MoR type balladeering at its best. Within its type, every track is a classic. Also contains a very informative booklet on Sparrow & Byron Lee, with lots of interesting history on this music of the islands."
Excellent
