CD Reviews

Great mid-'70's live set
Burritoman "USA" | Pennsylvania | 12/11/1999
(4 out of 5 stars)

""From Another Time" is a great collection of live material taken from the 1975 Flying Burrito Bros tour. The lineup of Sneeky Pete on steel, Chris Ethridge on bass, Gene Parsons on drums and vocals, Joel Scott Hill on vocals and guitar and Gib Guilbeau on fiddle and vocals was ready to rock and they did it well. The songs range from Burrito classics to then-new songs from the lp "Flying Again" to country standards. The cd sounds superb as well, making "From Another Time" a necessary addition to any serious Burrito collection."
Great set

(4 out of 5 stars)

"I agree with Burritoman. This live set shows the mid-70's Burritos at their best. Founding members Chris Ethridge and Sneaky Pete are joined by guitarist/vocalist Joel Scott Hill, guitarist/fiddler/vocalist Gib Guilbeau, and drummer/vocalist Gene Parsons. The song selection is excellent, and the sound quality is superb. Burrito standards are interspersed with new material (including some great Guilbeau material). Gene Parsons also stands out, not only because of his fine drumming, but also for his superb background vocals. This album clearly illustrates that this particular Burritos lineup has long been underrated. Get it - you will enjoy it. Well done, Burritos!"
A really good live band

"I know most Burrito fans are going to miss GP on this, but I totally agree with the previous reviewers.....This is a really good live recording of a really good honky tonk band. Diggi Diggi Li, She Thinks I Still Care, are just classic bar tunes. If I'm hangin at honky tonk club, this is the kinda band I want to listen too."
