Synopsis
Album Description The Floor hail from Edmonton, one of the most northerly cities in North America. A collection of warehouses, government buildings and vacant downtown offices, population around a million, it is isolated and unassuming. For a few years now, The Floor have been playing fantastic shows and making superior recordings. Taking their cues from The Cure, My Bloody Valentine, and a legion of other outsiders who insisted that their songs were as good or better than anyone else's. Similar CDs

CD ReviewsTheir third album J. G. Herdes | Amsterdam | 10/13/2008 (4 out of 5 stars) "Supprised to see this band here at Amazon. But hey, that's Amazon.
This third album is the best they made. It has this typical 80's ring to it like Interpol and Editors. But where Interpol and Editors nicked the soul of Joy Division, The Floor stays more original with their own sound. I actually met the Bass player at an concert of Echo & The Bunnymen. He gave me an copy of the album "autonomy on/off " which was their second release after their Doll EP. I was impressed and it was a good reward for the lack of motivation of Ian Mc Culloch during the concert at Paradiso Amsterdam ( Holland ). Just order this album and support these Canadians, they deserve it. And trust me, you won't be disappointed." |
