CD ReviewsDated but hilarious Juliet Blake | Atlanta, Georgia | 08/08/2001 (4 out of 5 stars) "This was released in the mid-70's, went out of print in vinyl, then thankfully it was released on cd. Unless you followed these guys from their youth in the Turtles or you were a Mothers/Zappa fan, or spent your 80's New Years' at The Bottom Line in NYC, chances are you've never heard of them. These guys are killer players and fantastic singers (evoking some harmonies complex enough to rival the Beach Boys) and all this results in their being gifted musical mimics. And you probably don't have to be a contemporary or a musical historian to get the ... jokes. The record has two studio cuts at the beginning and the end--some are better than others (the title cut is great fun). But the real reason to buy this disc is for the live set that is sandwiched in between. Though there is some of it I can do without (The Tibetan Memory Trick)--but for the occasional meandering silliness, the rest of it is a true riot. It can veer into the X-rated and the four-letter words, but considering all we have in our face these days, this is tame.If you are a collector who hunts for the unusual, this is a must for you." Humor is'nt dead...it just smells funny! Juliet Blake | 07/25/1999 (5 out of 5 stars) "Flo & Eddie are two of the best vocalists of our times. With razor sharp wit and energy to spare. This disc is full of topical humor from the mid seventies. The content is only considered rude to those who have succumbed to todays inability to laugh at it's self. "Living in a jungle" and "Kama Sutra Time" are uproariously funny. No one is safe from the biting satire.CSN&Y,Jimi Hendrix,Joni Mithchell,Yoko Ono,Elton John, and many others are subject to the good natured ribbing;and the band is of unequaled talent. These guys rip off riffs like a profesional cat burglar.A must have for any Zappa fan,or anyone who is'nt afraid to laugh." Hilarious live album from the former Turtles Juliet Blake | 01/09/1999 (4 out of 5 stars) "Granted, some of the language is x-rated, this is a hilarious live album that includes imitations of Jim Morrison, Elton John, George Harrison even Joni Mitchell. There are also some great one-liners and of course excellent singing from the former members of Zappa's Mothers & The Turtles."
