"Yeah, sort of a concept record from rock and rollers Fleshies, who bust out more of their high-energy Hickey-influenced punk rock. Four of the six songs on "The Game of Futbol" EP are dedicated to the members of the band. Basically, everyone in the band gets their own "theme song," my favorite being Mattowar's anthem, "Sexiest Man Alive." The other two tracks are "Fists of Mercy," a punk rock anthem if I've ever heard one and probably one of Fleshies' best songs, and the title track. The title track is... eh, a bit odd for Fleshies, a sort of mock-emo ode to... well, futbol. First time I heard it I didn't like it too much, but with repeated listening it grows on ya. Plus, Fleshies' typical bitingly funny lyrics are put to use very well on the title song."The Game of Futbol" is a great follow-up to "Kill the Dreamer's Dream" and fills the gap between that album and "The Sicilian," their latest album which is a bit more, I dare say, experimental, with liberal amounts of noise-rock influence thrown in.Also, I can't stress this enough, SEE FLESHIES LIVE. They will change the way you think of "intense" live shows. Simply amazing."
