"Even though this cd took way too long to arrive, It ended up being worth the wait. I bought this cd because I don't have enough money for the box sets so if you want all the flatt and scruggs you can handle, with the least amount of money, this is essential. Dim lights Thick Smoke, Jimmie Brown the Newsboy (Earl Scruggs on lead acoustic guitar!), and I'm lonesome and Blue are all definite reasons attesting to the fact that we all need this! Hearing Scruggs on acoustic guitar makes me want to quit playing mine! I'm sure Flatt didn't give him too many turns on the 6 string because it may have made him look bad. Anyways I highly recommend this along with Flatt and Scruggs Songs of the Famous Carter Family. All songs on foggy mountain special were recorded between 1950 and 1954. This would be the third cd I'd recommend for the collector of flatt and scruggs 1st get the mercury recordings then the tis sweet to be remembered grt hits, then foggy mountain special then songs of the famous carter family. If you have these you should be ok until you win the lottery to but the box sets (I hope I will someday)."
