"Vera Project opening starts off strongIt took a while for the crowd to get into the concert, and surprisingly, there was no mosh pit for all of Akimbo's songs. Not until the next band, Fitz of Depression, did they start to really seem to enjoy it.
Hailing from Olympia, Washington, Fitz of Depression has been around since the late 1980's, and their experience showed through tonight. They have toured across America,and the UK as well as Japan. Their sound was quite melodic, especially for a punk band. After hearing them, I wondered why I had not heard of them before, as the band seemed very underrated, especially for their amount of talent. Their set was wounded somewhat after they blew their bass amp. "I just bought that thing last week," Mikey Dees (vocals, guitar) announced to the crowd. Despite the damage, the band still blasted out two more songs, including a cover of The Beatles' "Ticket to Ride".Noah Radford
