Uncle Fish: All Live, All Good,

"I would say this a great record of Fish as a live experience. The concert material is made of classic Marillion and his first two solo albums."Vigil" (9:26) is proven a song best served live. You can hear him starting to sing from within the crowd and their voices are mixed upfront. "Credo" (7:38) and "Tongues" (7:54) build in synergy between singer and band. "Incubus" (11:21) is far better than ANY version by Marillion. "Shadowplay" (9:18) outclasses the studio version. The celtic sounding percussion mid-way through, makes it magic. The second set gets off to a good start with a tight version of "The Company" which benefits from a crowd singing along, as sing-a-long it was meant to be. "Lucky" starts off weak, but gets it together. Fish's evangelistic hamming at the start of "Big Wedge" is priceless, and worth a listen: no simple intro, no. There's a real neat crowd sing-a-long, acapella version of "Windswept Thumb" that leads into one of the best ever versions of "Heart Of Lothian".A definitive-live "Fugazi" (11:52), proves Fish has surrounded himself with the right players. A medley made of "Internal Exile/ Market Square Heroes" (9:30) concludes the original concert, but as a bonus, "Forgotten Sons" (10:30) from the Paris Olympia, is tacked on in lieu of "Kayleigh" which was a surprise encore played, but not recorded. If you buy but one live collection of Fish, you couldn't do much better... yet."
