"For those who haven't heard from Fish since he left Marillion, you finally have a chance to hear what he has been working on for the last ten yeas. For those of you who haven't heard of Fish at all, Kettle Of Fish offers a good introduction to an ideal-driven Scottish singer/songwriter with progressive rock roots. His lyrics compare favourably with Neil Peart of Rush, Roger Waters, and (when he lightens up) Ray Davies of The Kinks. As a bonus to this package, two new songs are added."Chasing Miss Pretty," is a fun song that deserves to be added to the list of summer anthems blaring from car stereos. Infatuation made fun of, a la Ray Davies. A good Top 40 sounding track."Mr. Buttons," is topical Fish, exploring the age of computer crime. The song's title is the name of a harmless (?) hacker. This is a definite rock song, sure to go well in concert."
Average collection of above-average material

"Not the best sampling of Fish's post-Marillion work, and the boring, middle-of-the-road new tracks are not at all indicative of the direction he's taking with his upcoming _Raingods With Zippos_. But for someone who's never heard Fish before, this is the best start - an inexpensive collection of singles. But please don't judge him by "Chasing Miss Pretty"..."
Fish's best post-Marillion work!!!

"Kettle of Fish is a singles collection which includes Fish's best post-Marillion work including my favorites - Just Good Friends, Gentleman's Excuse Me, and Internal Exile. A must have if your a 'freak'. The remastering/recording is excellent too."
A great summation of the story so far

"A great primer for the uninitiated, KETTLE ia well worth the price of admission. The remastered tracks sound fantastic, "Chasing Miss Pretty" is toe-tapping fun, and the liner notes from Fish add a terrific personal touch to the proceedings. If you have wanted to give this artist a shot, you could hardly fine a better place to start than this overview."
