How can this be five stars?

"I feel suspect for giving this album five stars. I mean everyone who is enthralled by a given album hands them out like a kindergarten teacher who is thrilled that the students are actualy retaining anything. Simple answer - Firewater is the teacher! Like the newly revived CVB or vintage Waits, they simply made an album like no-one does anymore. A variety of styles by a singular voice. So when they pass over the indie rock stylings of "Don't Make It Stop", it feels like a revelation. It's like a great foreign film that suddenly turns to english. So if you like a mixed bag of styles delivered by a band and a singer that make them their own, this is your ticket to ride. Simply fantastic. And while you are at it pick up The Ponzi Scheme. This is a great band that people will discover years after they disappear from the scene. Great lyrics, great music, a singular style. Though I don't play it 24/7, whenever it makes it out, I feel like something is going on, somewhere!--
