"I became a 'Firehouse' fan after purchasing their first album from the bargin bin in 1992. They had definite talent, but they came onto the scene a bit too late to gain a huge following with the "Heavy Metal" crowd. While the younger people started to embrace the grunge scene, and the older crowd listened to their staple music in a rotation, it was difficult for the traditional hair-bands to break into the scene if they weren't already known.
In my opinion, this album showed the older crowd that the music Firehouse wrote had heart and soul, not just electric guitars and drums. "Love of a Lifetime" was done in a fashion that was a cross between "country" and "easy listening" and is a perfect piece to be played at weddings!
If you're unfamiliar with their music, this is a great introduction to the band. If you are familiar with their music, it's great to hear them do their songs as acoustic representations. Either way, it is very easy to appreciate this album... pick it up and give it a spin."
