A Lackluster Performance
03/07/2002
(1 out of 5 stars)

"I've always looked forward to the possibility of a live Firefall album. Therefore, I bought Concert Classics 2 when it was released. I was disappointed by the overall performance and mix, and the lack of the band's biggest hit "You Are the Woman." The album did not seem to me to be anything close to the appropriate legacy that Firefall deserves as a group that recorded some of the most enjoyable country rock and (frankly) catchy pop rock songs (whatever happened to Rick Roberts after his Firefall days, anyway?). Therefore, when I heard about this live recording--with the "previously unreleased" "Lips," I was sure it would be an improvement. Unfortunately, it appears simply to be a retitled version of Concert Classics 2 (which also included "Lips")--with a more attractive cover. Just listen to the sample of "Strange Way" to get an idea of how the band sounds. Then put some of those Firefall studio albums in the player, or buy some to complete your collection. As for this collection, Firefall deserves better."
