"This is the first album by Fire Town, a band consisting of Butch Vig and Doug (Duke) Erikson from Garbage (and Spooner).
I'm so glad that this album has finally been put out on CD.
There are no throwaway songs on this disc. It's all good. Hilights are "Places To Run", "Carry The Torch", "Rain On You", and "There's A Fire". Everything else is good too.
Personally, I would recomend starting with their second album, 'The Good Life', and if you like that one, pick this one up too.
Also check out all three albums by Spooner.
Thanks Wounded Bird for puting another great album on CD!"

"No question this is a classic, but the remastering of the CD is poor. The mid-highs are harsh and very hollow. There is no remastering info on the CD so I'm not sure if they got the master tapes. I have emailed Wounded Bird Records about this and am waiting for an answer. They have re-released many classics...go to their web site for a long list of surprising titles (Terence Boylan!) Firetown had great promise...their country/folk rock has a little early Wilco, Crosby, Stills and Nash, and even some jangly Byrds guitars. Very tuneful. But the sound is a real downer."
