"I am at a loss to understand why this album does not already have a dozen five star reviews. To say that it is superb music of the Renaissance is to wallow in understatement. If you like choral music of this era, if you like composers like Palestrina, Victoria, Morales, Lassus, Willaert and so on, then you should rush to buy this album. This is superior music brilliantly performed. People who love choral music owe a debt of gratitude to Andrew Carwood and David Skinner and to their very professional ensemble Cardinall's Musick. If you are diffident about buying the album, then buy one CD. I guarantee you will be hooked."
Excellent, full recording.

"Ludford uses the same plainchant for both works, but the voicing has a distinct emphasis at the lower end of the range, not only adding to the weight but also bringing a certain darkness to the sonority. The performance has the same spontaneous feeling that distinguishes this magnificent series through out, and it confirms Ludford as one of the most emotionally communicative and original musicians of his age. The plainsong Propers relate the music to the Feast of the Assumption.
Excellent..............."
