Felix Pappalardi started his career in the early 60s as arranger and producer for folk acts like Tim Hardin, The Youngbloods, Joan Baez and Fred Neil. In 1967 he was asked to produce Cream's classic album Disraeli Gears, co-writing 'Strange Brew' with Eric Clapton. In 1969, Pappalardi produced guitarist Leslie West's first album Mountain. Pappalardi and West then formed heavy rock group Mountain, who had a succession of gold-selling albums between 1970 and 1974. In 1976, Pappalardi recorded his first solo album with Japanese hard rock band Creation (who had supported Mountain).
