Product DescriptionAfter falling into the diaspora for over a decade, the album Fé by the band of the same name is once again available. The band Fé was formed 1994 at the beginning of the Boulder, Colorado renaissance which helped birth a slate of nationally and internationally respected bands, including String Cheese Incident, Skin, Leftover Salmon, the Dave Watts Motet, Yonder Mountain String Band, and endless others. Fé, however, was most definitely not a jam band. With heavy Celtic, Latin, and traditional American folk influences, Fé was built around the songs of Geoffrey Miurian, now known as Jeff Hill, a singer-songwriter with a gift for pointed, disarming storytelling. The band took these songs and wove a tapestry of instruments around them, creating powerful arrangements that were both lush and deceivingly simple. Every member of the band was also an accomplished performer as well and would go on to help define excellence in their genres. Grant Rieder (trumpet, pipes, mandolin, marimba, guitar, charango, guiro, and vocals) went on to latin-jazz circus Cabaret Diosa and currently tours internationally. Danny Shafer (electric and acoustic guitars, mandolin, vocals) went on to form both the Danny Shafer band and the infamous Honky Tonk Allstars. Patrick Bloom (electric bass, dobro bass, guitarron, charango, percussion, vocals) is now a critically acclaimed singer-songwriter who performs nationally for Trailer Records, and Jeff Hill remains one of the most talented and prolific writers and performers in the country. Despite the 10+ years that have passed since its creation, Fé remains an timeless, engaging, and enduring listen.
