CD ReviewsDominican Gold Pat Mantei | Montana | 11/18/2001 (5 out of 5 stars) "As suggested by the cover, this music is golden sounds from Hispañola's "Niche", a term of endearment often used in the Dominican Republic. Fausto Rey (king, in Spanish) won the hearts of his Dominican compadres in the '70s with his light-hearted merengue and heart-felt romances. Although he continues to perform in the US and Latin America, the music on these two discs is generally from the '70s. My husband & I both enjoy listening: my husband likes to exercise to the lively sounds and I, well, Fausto Rey won my heart too."
