"This is a great cd, and in my opinion, their best!! I am a big fan of the "hair" era. The songs on this cd are longer at the end than they were on the original cd and cassette, which is a good surprise! The track listing on this re-release is out of sorts, seeing that the songs are listed in the correct order but they don't fall the same way on the actual cd when you play it. The extra track is just icing on this one."

"Fastway was greatly overlooked by most, but they are an excellent band. This album is more "polished than their earlier stuff, but that's not neccessarily a bad thing. Overall, the songs are solid and full of hooks. Some favorites: Kill Me With Your Heart(solid rocker), The World Waits For You, Change(good ballad), Little By Little(could have been on 1st album) and Move Over(Dave King sings Janis Joplin - great). One problem with this cd - I seem to recall this being the same with the original release, I had on cassette - is the track listing is wrong.
This is the correct listing.
1. Waiting For The Roar
2. The World Waits For You
3. Little By Little
4. Change
5. Rock On
6. Tired Of Your Love
7. Move Over
8. Kill Me With Your Heart
9. Girl
10. Back Door Man
11. Doin' Just Fine
If you like good, straight forward rock buy this album - or any of the first three Fastway albums. Great songs and Dave King can sing absolutely anything."
Classic melodic rock album - remastered

"I can see how old school Fastway fans would be disappointed by the band's third release, 1986's Waiting for the Roar. Pete Way was gone, and with him seemed to go the band's straightforward hard rock sound, replaced by glossy production and plenty of keyboards. Of course, glossy production and plenty of keyboards are like crack to those of us who grew up on mid to late 80's hard rock, so naturally I love Fastway's sound on Waiting for the Roar.
Waiting for the Roar is 80's style melodic rock at its best. There are great hooks, infectious melodies, and songs you feel like you have to sing along to. One of the best elements of this album's sound is vocalist Dave King, who finally seems to have developed a real range for his voice. He can still do a mean Robert Plant wail, but utilizes a subdued middle range on this album as well. The result is an album that sounds like a decadent mix of Zeppelin and Zebra.
It may not please everyone, but fans of the late 80's melodic rock sound should love the direction Fastway was heading on this album. It's just a completely solid melodic rock album, and remains my favorite of the band's releases.
NOTE: BGO Records reissued Waiting for the Roar in 2006. In addition to digitally remastered audio, the reissue features the bonus track "Doing Just Fine". It's a great reissue, and goes perfectly with their 2-on-1 reissue Fastway/All Fired Up.
