Fariborz Lachini has been creating music for over four decades. While in his twenties, Lachini had already achieved success in the world of pop music, writing for some of today's Persian pop icons as well as music for children. After the revolution, Lachini moved to France to study music and computers. Living in Europe and studying at Universite de Paris - Sorbonne added a European flavor to Lachini's music and influenced his style to become a distinctive and beautiful fusion of contemporary Persian and European styles.In the early nineties, Lachini released his first solo piano album, "Golden Autumn 1", the album quickly became the most popular album in Iran. It made Lachini's a household name. A track from Golden Autumn 1 is now featured on iTunes Essentials - Classical World, exemplifying Lachini's status as one of the few non-Western artists in the world of contemporary classical music. Focusing primarily on film composition until 2007, Lachini's music has been showcased in both domestic and international productions. In 2006, his critically-acclaimed score in "Requiem Of Snow", Iraq's submission for the Academy Awards, was cited in Variety as a highlight of the picture. While active scoring motion pictures in North America and abroad, the prodigious Lachini continues to be prolific in the music scene, Golden Autumn series grew to 4 albums by 2008. His "Scent of Yesterday", which is collection of Persian melodies arranged for Piano is a great introduction to Persian melodies. He also has arrangements of other world pop music for piano released under "Golden Memories" album.Lachini's "Requiem" series marks a new pinnacle in the storied career of the acclaimed musician in 2008. Requiem 2 is to follow shortly late 2009.Piano Adagios is a compilation of "Requiem 1" and "Requiem 2" in shorter length format than original Requiem pieces making it enjoyable not just by classical music lovers.
