Nice obscure little piece of work

"This is funny: the second time in the last few weeks I reviewed a band called Far Cry, and I don't think one has anything to do with the other.
This album by Far Cry fetures the band, with backup by Donald Fagen and Walter Brecker. Not accidentally, Far Cry has the same sound as late 70s, Steely Dan, say around Goucho; jazz-pop pieces with lots of turnarounds, detours and changes, and slick production.
Now of course, only Steely Dan can do what they do-Toto in great evidence of that--and the late 70s/early 80s synths date this album somewhat. These guys are also more pop oriented than Steely, and that slick 70s pop sound can be imposing (Brecker and Fagen only got away with it because the songs were sooooooooo good.) But Far Cry really know how to change chords each beat, and the charts they must have written for this album are very engaging, so if you like Steely Dan or high end soft-rock, this is worth having"
