Synopsis

Product Description
New York singer-songwriter Faith Kleppinger s latest effort, the aptly-named Boulevards, takes us on a stroll though Faith s career and life outposts to tell us the story so far. Faith s trademark fragile, delicate vocals, backed by minimalist arrangements, serve as the vehicle for our trip. Faith s poignant lyrics, painting sordid tales of hope and despair, provide the landscape. Faith, who was born near Allentown, Pennsylvania, and attended Indiana University, began her musical career in Atlanta in the late 90s in Atlanta, when she fronted the roots-rock band the Little Bobby Taylors. After the split-up of the Taylors, Faith began performing on her own around Atlanta, and released Asleep in the Well in 2002. After re-locating to New York, Faith release No Galore in 2004. Following a couple of years of writing and recording, Boulevards drops in October 2008. Boulevards has touch points with all of Faiths earlier works as well. Reprising the recording set-up for No Galore, five tracks (Lighthouse, Drive Past Shiloh, For July, One Half Pond, The Shaken) on Boulevards were recorded with Mike Bridavsky at Russian Recordings in Nashville, Indiana. A sixth track (The Fastest Kid Alive) was recorded with David Barbe and Blake Rainey at Chase Park Transduction in Athens, Georgia, which was the team and locale for creating Asleep in the Well. The other four tracks (Anything New, Hands Free, Your Luckiest Day, The Living Tab) were recorded with Tony Whitlock at Queensize Twin Air in Indianapolis, Indiana. Musicians on the record include Kenny Childers and other members of Gentleman Caller, who served as Faiths backing band on No Galore, as well as Barbe and Rainey. In other ties that bind, Faith recorded one song (Drive Past Shiloh) penned by Childers and one (Hands Free) by her former Little Bobby Taylors bandmate, Judson Henry.
