CD ReviewsGreatest Rock Album On Earth susumu-5 | Japan | 06/15/2000 (5 out of 5 stars) "Fair Warning's "Four" is the best rock album I have ever heard so far. This album is well balanced in power, melodies, great hooks as well as excellent pop rock flavor inheriting 80's excellent melodic rock legacy represented by Night Ranger, Survivor, Journey and Foreigner. Well, returned with extra mightiness to be exact? You will sure to get bombarded with power pop rock roller coaster such as Dreams, I Fight. Great pop rock tracks such as Break Free, Tell Me I'm Wrong, Time Will Tell, Eyes Of Love, Find My Way. Great ballads like Night Falls, For The Young. Recommended for wide range of rock fans. Guaranteed by well seasoned rock fans in Japan." Radio-Friendly German Hard Rock susumu-5 | Japan | 11/18/2000 (5 out of 5 stars) "Fair Warning is a German hard rock band which scored great success in Japanese market. Original members Ule W. Ritgen(keyboard), Helge Engleke(lead guitarist) and Tommy Heart(vocalist) were either members, main songwriters and additional vocalist(Tommy) for legendary German rock band Zeno during 80s. No wonder they captured Japanese rock fan's mind who lost faith in American grunge/alternative movement. Their debut album Fair Warning in 1992 alone sold more than 100,000 copies in Japan.Four is their fourth album and my personal best of 2000. This album is the most radio friendly having 80s American pop rock feel but without degenerating into soft ballad fested rock. Their rock approach here can be compared to REO Speedwagon's Hi Infidelity, Survivor's Vital Signs, Whitesnake's Whitesnake. Excellent mix of pop and heavy aspect of rock'n roll.If you can have a chance to listen to either Break Free, Survivor-style power ballad, Find My Way, Reo-like uptempo pop rock, or Dream, Van Halen style powerful uptempo rock track, you will wonder"Why these songs could never be Billboard Top 10 hits?" The rest of the track show harder edged power rock which will satisfy heavy metal fans who likes AC/DC or Iron Maiden. And "Night Falls" will be sure-hit ballad track satisfying adult comtemporary fans. A must for Zeno fans. Recommended for Survivor, Iron Maiden, Hardline, Van Halen fans."
