"How great it was to find a message at Rudy's A&M Corner ... from Evie announcing the Japan reissue of her classic 1969 album, originally released as A&M SP 4239. This showcase of her soulful but precise folk-rock-blues vocals has been unavailable for far too long. The bonus track, "Maybe Tomorrow," is from the Soundtrack for JOHN & MARY (A&M SP 4230), an obscure score conducted by Quincy Jones. The other songs from ANY WAY are: Crazy Annie (inspired by "Midnight Cowboy"), But You Know I Love You, I'll Never Be Alone Again, Any Way that You Want Me, Close Your Eyes Cross Your Fingers, It's This I Am, Shadow of the Evening, Take Me For a Little While, Until It's Time for you to Go, I'll Hold Out My Hand, Carolina on my Mind and One Fine Summer Morning. Naturally, I'd like to see a domestic version come out. However, because this is essential for all who missed this album the first go-round, go ahead and order it. You'll wonder how you got along without it so long."
ONE OF THE FINEST SINGERS OF THE 60'S!

"IT BLEW ME AWAY WHEN I SAW THAT THIS C.D. HAD BEEN RELEASED!I REMEMBER WHEN I FIRST HEARD "TAKE ME FOR A LITTLE WHILE" ON THE RADIO.WOW!!THEN SHE HAD "ANY WAY THAT YOU WANT ME" ANOTHER GREAT SONG OF THE 60'S.SHE HAD A BEAUTIFUL VOICE BUT WAS MISMANAGED BECAUSE YOU NEVER SAW PHOTOS OF HER,OR ANY OF THE OTHER GIRLS WHO SANG FOR THE RED BIRD LABEL, IN ANY MAGAZINES.THESE ARE HARD-TO-FIND RECORDS, SO I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS C.D. AS AN INVESTMENT OR SIMPLY BECAUSE IT'S GREAT!THIS IS THE 60'S GIRL SOUND AT IT BEST!"

"Evie Sands is right up there with other sixties icons like Dusty Springfield and Carole King. It's great that Any Way That You Want Me has finally gotten a CD release. For me, this album is every bit as good as one of my other all time favorites, Dusty in Memphis.Evie's soulful renditions of rock-blues songs produced by her long time pals and collaboraters Chip Taylor and Al Gorgoni is one of the top female albums of all time. A highlight is Evie's own song, It's This I Am, the first song she ever recorded that she wrote. Evie went on to give up singing for a while and write songs for top female vocalists but it sure is great to have her back where she belongs, singing her heart out on this classic reissue."
