This is CORTOT after all. Perfect technique isn't the point

"There are many who worship at the shrine of Cortot. I am not one of them. I hear a lot in his playing to admire. His technique isn't complete by any means. He stumbles a lot and uses quirky pedalings to cover his flaws rather than to elucidate the music. However, some swear by these interpretations. I will admit to the importance of the view without swearing to agreement. However, this is a good sounding record and these are important works. You get a lot more than the four impormptus - there are the complete Op 10 & Op 25 etudes - which are REALLY the point of this disk. This is an important historical disk and I am glad to have it in my collection even if I don't listen to it all that often."
