CD ReviewsThe latest step for a star Justdancin' | Phoenix, AZ | 10/03/2008 (5 out of 5 stars) "I bought Espen Lind's CD "Red" first. It was as expected, a bit tenative and unpolished. I knew though that the true Espen was in there. You can hear a lot of influence from Michael Jackson and Prince. I may be wrong, but it even has a hint of what I thought might be Simon & Garfunkle's "The Boxer".
The vocals are very quiet and reserved. I was a bit dissapointed at first but it held promise. And it grows on you. And just as I expected, it was the beginning of what was to become a meteoric rise, at least in the European Markets. Next we have "This is Pop Music", which has been out of stock and no more copies in the future, that anyone knew of. Of course my Norwegian is not the best ;-) I bought it, to follow the Journey of Espen Lind. I did not get the New Sealed Copy I was told I was buying, and it took forever to get what I hope is a good copy and not a bootleg copy. I just got it today. If it is what I expect, it will be the next step in his maturing. The final step, with a few stops on the way, is "April". Which I absolutely love, mostly for Million Miles Away, Unloved, Truth Hurts and Movie Star. There is a certain note in Million Miles Away, that Espen holds in the Hallelujah Live concert that just gives one shivers. For that one moment of vocal perfection, Thank you Espen. You just keep getting better. Don't forget your roots when you are busy in New York with the Glitter!" |
