"My aunt bought this album when it came out in the 70's; she played it constantly. These men were inmates at Rahway State Prison doing serious time. Many folk harmonized on locked down, but these guys had the art down enough to gain serious notoriety. They covered everyone's songs and translated them into their own."I'm gonna be sweeter than I was yesterday", and Look Over Your Shoulder, are so powerfully handled. Every song has so much depth. The Escorts took the literal meaning of the songs they covered to a whole 'nother level. The pain and sincerity of the cost of their freedom is in every note they sing."
