"this box set brings back memories of one of country's greatest heroes. it is especially dear to me, because my grandfather, who opened for Ernest at some of his shows and is now deceased, used to play many of these same songs at home."
A great introduction to the music of Ernest Tubb!

"This box set is definitely a must for all Ernest Tubb fans! It covers his early years from his very first RCA sessions from 1936 to 1946 when he was then at Decka Records. I absolutely adore this box set for it has all his early hits such as his classic Walking The Floor Over You and it also contains some previously unreleased radio transcriptions from 1944 which I know you will all love! There are rerecordings of many songs such as You Nearly Lose Your Mind, Walking The Floor Over You, Blue Eyed Elaine and a few others including some outtakes. You will get to hear Ernest's Jimmie Rodgers influence on the first disc on many songs such as his first two sides for RCA The Last Thoughts Of Jimmie Rodgers, The Passing Of Jimmie Rodgers, Married Man Blues etc. Highly recommended!"
