He held positions at Trinity Church, Copley Square and at the Parish of All Saints, both in Boston; and at Trinity Church on the Green in New Haven before his position at the Cathedral. He has received a number of impressive accolades including first prize in the 1993 Chicago American Guild of Organists Young Organist's Competition; the Gold Medal of the Mayor of Musashino/Tokyo in the 1996 International Organ Competition Musashino in Japan; and first prize in the 1997 Yale Biennial Organ Competition. The Great Organ of Washington National Cathedral was built by the Ernest M. Skinner & Son Organ Company and installed in 1938. The instrument consists of 189 ranks and 10,647 pipes.
