CD Reviews

Another Audio Stinker From Disconforme.
William F. Flanigan Jr. | North Potomac, MD USA | 09/18/2000
(1 out of 5 stars)

"This is the second CD of historical recordings (derived from the original music-production, nitrate-film masters) of Erich Wolfgang Korngold (EWK) to be issued under Disconforme's Sound Track Factory label (the first was THE ADVENTURES OF ROBIN HOOD). Like it's predecessor, its a solid zero. There is simply no reason not to apply state-of-the-art digital technologies to mitigate recording artifacts and to compensate for the primate audio quality of the source material. No reason, that is, unless you are going for a fast buck before word of mouth gets out. Give your ears a break, and stay clear of this import rip off! To savor these same recordings when they have been digitally processed and enhanced with "tender loving care," check out the line of CDs from Tsunami. This is another import label, not widely distributed. But tracking 'em down will get you as close as it is currently possible to EWK conducting his classic film symphonies on the Warner Bros. sound stage."
ANOTHER SLEAZY BOOTLEG TO AVOID
William F. Flanigan Jr. | 05/16/2002
(1 out of 5 stars)

"They keep grinding them out at "Soundtrack Factory"...not soundtrack albums, but lousy sounding BOOTLEGS. This "Blood" is no exception. A MUST to AVOID, and an insult to Korngold."
Shamefully bad

"Please read the posts below as well as other posts regarding this company's scores. This is the second soundtrack I have ever bought from this company and have to say that if you listened to the original record, you would get better quality. This cd sounds like they attached their record player to a cheap soundcard and burned it right to a disk. You hear all of the crackling sounds of a record and the actual soundtrack can be heard in the distance. Please! Please avoid!"
